Do I have to pay for services that were not rendered?
My daughter found a service online that performs beach elopement packages in California. She printed out and signed their contract, along with paying a requested deposit of 100.00. Sadly her wedding was canceled. Now they expect her to pay for the entire ceremony service IN FULL (around 700.00) even though nothing was planned or done except for a few contact emails confirming her ceremony date. They are telling her that she did not give them enough notice. She gave them more than 30 days, and told them as soon as she knew herself. Can they force her to pay for services that were not rendered??
It depends wha the contract says… if the contract says that you need to cancel by a certain time and she didn’t cancel before that, then “yes” she needs to pay.
