I Need Help With a Hawaiian Wedding!?
In about a year or so, I’m getting married. I wanted it to be somewhere with a view of Diamond Head, and right on the beach. I was thinking probably the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The only thing is, I wanted to have a traditional Hawaiian wedding, and a luau reception, but I’m so lost. I don’t actually know the traditions or anything. I live in Ohio right now, but plan on moving to Hawaii in about 6 months, so as of now I can’t just go look anywhere. So I guess what I really need to know is, is there a place where I can have my wedding, with a view of Diamond Head, and have a private luau reception after. I’d prefer the luau to be at the same place as the ceremony. Also, what are some Hawaiian wedding traditions? Thanks
My husband & I got married in Maui last Summer & it was beautiful. I honestly have no idea about Diamond Head but when I was planning my wedding, I found that the people I talked to in Hawaii were extremely helpful. You can always do a search for wedding planners in that area & give them a call. There are SO many people who do weddings in Hawaii. Ours was arranged by our hotel but there are a lot of freelancers there who will do the wedding anywhere you want it. As far as tradition, we had the blowing of the conch shell & we exchanged flower leis. We also had a hula dancer perform for us after the ceremony.
